The Hillcrest girls basketball team recorded a 65-52 Little Eight Conference victory over the Ashby Arrows on Thursday night in Fergus Falls.

Mackenzie Foss and Olivia Foss each scored 22 points to lead the lady Comets.  Mackenzie also had 5 steals, while Olivia finished with 6 rebounds and 4 assists.  Cassy Twedt contributed 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 steals, and Audra Twedt added 8 points.

"This was a great team win for us," commented Hillcrest Head Coach Hannah Clark.  "We shot the ball well and limited our turnovers.  There was a point in the second half when Ashby started to make a run, but the girls dug deep and found a way to stop Ashby's momentum and never looked back.  Mackenzie and Olivia both had great all around games and I thought they controlled the floor on both ends.  Cassy provided a huge spark off the bench, coming up just short of a double-double.  Audra had a great night shooting."

The Arrows placed three players in double figures, led by 14 points from Courtney KoefodCeli Nelson and Kalista Aamot had 13 and 12 points, respectively.

"I thought we showed some good balanced scoring with three girls in double figures," said Ashby Head Coach Alan Niemann.  "Unfortunately, 80% free throw shooting and excellent shooting from the floor by the Comets kept the Arrows at bay."

Hillcrest (1-3) will host Nevis on Tuesday night, and Ashby (1-3) will play at Rothsay on Friday, December 14.
