The Henning Hornets got off to a fast start in Underwood on Thursday night as they jumped to a 41-16 lead over the Rockets at the half and went on to record a 76-39 victory.

"Henning came out with a very fast pace that we just could not keep up with," said Underwood Head Coach Evan Meece.  "They ran the floor and worked well together as a team to get open looks.  They put a lot of pressure on us and forced us to make too many turnovers early.  We played a more composed and better second half, but Henning is a tough competition and they will be a tough team to beat moving forward.  We'll take a lot from this and be ready to go next week when Hancock comes to town."

Canaan Kugler led the Rockets with ten points. Braden Thorson and Nick Seiple added eight points each.

Three Hornets were in double digits, led by Sam Fisher with 18 points.  Dylan Trana added 14 and Parker Fraki contributed a dozen.

Underwood (1-1) will host Hancock on Tuesday night.
