“I was proud of how hard the girls fought through the entire game,” stated Hillcrest Head Coach Hannah Clark. “We handled their press and we did a much better job of taking care of the ball tonight. We found ourselves out of position defensively, but we will continue to improve on that as the season goes on and we get some more game experience.”
The Comets were paced by Olivia Foss (17 points, 4 steals) and Mackenzie Foss(13 points, 4 steals). Cassy Twedt contributed 4 points, 4 steals and 6 rebounds and Anna Rasmussen added 6 boards.
Hancock was led by Rylee Hanson with 13 and Alexis Staples with a dozen.
Hillcrest (0-2) will host Brandon-Evansville in their Little Eight Conference opener on Tuesday night.
