The M State lady Spartans return two starters from theri 2017-2018 team that finished 38-19 overall. They also have six incoming freshman and more depth than they were able to bring to the court last year.

Sophomores Taylin Schleicher (Forward) from West Central Area and Kassandra Algarate (Guard) from Hancock, are the returning starters.  Ashlee Rimpila(Forward) from New York Mills is the other sophomore on the roster.

Freshmen Sydney Hovland (Forward) from Underwood, Megan Dreger (Guard) from Parkers Prairie, and Olivia Winfrey (Guard) from Ada-Borup will be counted on to step right into the starting lineup.  Freshmen Alexa Mortenson (Post) from Ulen-Hitterdal, Abbey Cole (Guard) from Sherman, New York and Paige Schultz(Guard) from Hillcrest Lutheran Academy in Fergus Falls will provide quality depth for M State.

"We will have a little more depth this year compared to what we've had in the past," acknowledged Head Coach Janice Hendrickson, now entering her fifth season at M State.  "This will allow us to apply more pressure and to run the floor more efficiently.  I am very happy with the strength of our freshman class.  They've come from experienced programs and if they can transition to the college game as quickly as I expect, we will be a contender in our division."

Hendrickson, who is assisted by Jess Price and Krista Shaikoski, sees Anoka-Ramsey and Rochester as once again the teams to beat in the MCAC Southern Division
