The Ottertail Central Bulldogs are returning to the Section Championship game after their 47-7 win over Walker-Hackensack-Akeley on Saturday afternoon in Battle Lake.

OTC started the game with a defensive stop that forced W-H-A to punt. After the punt the Bulldogs marched the ball down the field and scored on a 2 yard Max Naddy run. Nick VanErp then connected with Naddy again for the 2 point conversion. Later in the first quarter Austin Wensauer scored on a 6 yard touchdown run followed by a Nick VanErp 2 point conversion. After the first quarter OTC was ahead 16-0.

In the second quarter Nick VanErp broke off a 23 yard run for a touchdown, and Max Naddy passed to Blake Wallevand for the 2 point conversion. Then just before the half VanErp connected with Blake Wallevand on a tipped pass and Wallevand walked into the end zone. VanErp then ran the ball in for the 2 point conversion. OTC took a halftime lead of 32-0.

In the second half OTC wasted no time as they took the kickoff and went the length of the field scoring on a 9 yard pass from VanErp to Wensauer. Brennen Amundson added the 2 point conversion. OTC scored their final touchdown of the day when Wensauer rushed for 4 yard score. Nick Miller kicked the extra point to make it a 47-0 lead. Walker answered with a touchdown later to make the final 47-7.

OTC was led defensively by their defensive line, Adam LangeCian Beuhler, Nick Miller and Nathan Stavaas, who made it hard for W-H-A to move the ball or have time to throw. Caden Johnson led the Bulldogs in tackles.

Wensauer and Naddy both rushed for over 100 yards to pace the Bulldog’s offense.

OTC advances to play Ada-Borup/ West in the Fargo Dome on Friday at 5:30 pm for the Section 6A Championship.
