Cowboys Advance in 6AA with Win Over LPGE

The Breckenridge Cowboys built a 34-7 halftime lead on the way to a 47-20 victory over Long Prairie-Grey Eagle on Tuesday night in the section 6A quarterfinals.  Breckenridge ran for 353 yards on the night with Hunter Feigum leading the way with 8 carries for 134 yards and Caden Mcgough running for 131 yards on 10 attempts.

Jack Aigner completed 5-of-8 passes for 57 yards and put the Cowboys on the board with a one yard touchdown run in the first quarter.  A 29 yard TD pass from Hudson Pung to Joe Mena tied the game and an extra point kick by Joe Langergave the Thunder a 7-6 lead at the end of the first.

Breckenridge scored on a 3 yard run by Feigum, a 19 yard pass from Aigner to Tyson Piechowski, 1 39 yard run by Mcgough and a 15 yard pass from Aigner to Jace Jensen in the second quarter.  Feigum ran for a two point conversion after his TD run and Charles Boldingh kicked extra points after each of the other TDs in the quarter.

In the third quarter, Feigum carried the ball 55 yards for a touchdown and Boldingh added another PAT kick as the Cowboys increased their lead to 41-7.  LPGE answered with an 18 yard TD pass from Pung to Sam Byers and an extra point kick from Kevin Nuno, making the score 41-14 at the end of three.

Pung hooked up with Gabe Abraham on a 49 yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to cut the lead to 41-20, but Breckenridge got the score back when Emmit Vig scored on a 39 yard run to make the final 47-20.

Breckenridge will move on to the Section semifinals Saturday night at seven o'clock at Osakis.
