The Hillcrest volleyball team dropped their playoff match in Sebeka on Monday night, falling to the Trojans in 3 sets, 25-17, 25-22, 25-16.  The loss eliminates the Comets from the Section 6A Tournament, ending their season.

Leaders for Hillcrest were Hanne Brennhaug (4 kills, 6 digs, 6 set assists), Olivia Foss (8 kills, 8 digs, 4 blocks), Molly McGuire (3 kills, 6 digs), Kate Peterson(17/18 serving, 2 ace serves, 5 digs), Audra Ewan (10 digs, 10 set assists) and Mackenzie Foss (3 ace serves, 20 digs).

"A coach always hopes for a win in the playoffs and tonight we did not get the job done," reported Head Coach Debi Foss.  "The season went so quickly and so did our playoffs.  Our first set was a slow start for us and we struggled with our passing.  We had way too many unforced errors tonight and that is on us.  We did have some shining moments, especially as we started the second set on an 11-0 run led by junior Kate Peterson.  We'll take some time to reflect on the season this week, honor our seniors, and make plans for the off season.  I was truly blessed to coach this group of girls my first year after a long hiatus from coaching volleyball.  Thank you parents for your support.  Thank you players for 'doing the work' and keeping the Joy of the Lord in your hearts."
