The Brandon-Evansville football team hosted Hancock on Wednesday night and closed out their regular season with a convincing 40-20 win over the Owls.

Marshall Riedel scored on runs of 25 yards and 1 yard in the first quarter and two point conversion runs by Keagan Schiele and Tanner Bitzan spotted B-E a 16-0 lead. Hancock scored on a 9 yard run by Tyler Timmerman to end the first quarter with the Chargers leading 16-6.

In the second quarter, Riedel scored again, this time on a fourteen yard run to make the score 22-6. A 3 yard run by Schiele with 3:30 left in the first half put the score at 28-6 and Schiele connected with Bitzan for a 14 yard TD pass with twenty seconds to play in the half which gave Brandon-Evansville a 34-6 edge at the break.

The final score of the game came with six minutes to play in the fourth quarter when Schiele hooked up with Sam Fuller for a 30 yard TD.

“Tonight was senior night for our lone senior Chris Vinson,” commented Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Tim Pattrin.  “The team stepped up and gave him a night to remember.  Hats off to our line for how they played tonight.  The opened up holes for our backs who ran hard all night and gave Keagan time to throw the ball.  The defense bent but didn't break and did a great job against a very explosive offense.  Total team win!”

The Chargers had 391 yards of offense, 271 on the ground and 120 through the air. Schiele completed 8-of-12 passes for 120 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Bitzan was on the receiving end of five of those completions for 54 yards and Fuller caught two balls for 63 yards. Riedel led the ground attack with 146 yards on 26 attempts, scoring three times. Defensively, Bitzan and Schiele each intercepted a pass and Bitzan led the Chargers with 13 tackles. Fuller added 7.5 tackles, while Schiele and Tony Schaffran each had six.

Hancock ran for 224 yards and passed for 123 yards, giving them 347 total offensive yards in the game. The Owls had a balanced running attack with Timmerman (17 carries, 79 yards), Jed Fuechtenberger (7 carries, 73 yards) and Isaac Nienhaus (2 carries 66 yards). Brandon Kellenberger hauled in six passes for 72 yards and quarterback Preston Rohloff completed 12-of-31 passes for 123 yards.
