Beachy Sets More Perham Records as Yellowjackets Top Panthers

The records keep falling in Perham where Jenson Beachy established new season records for pass attempts (242), pass completions (159), passing TDs (25) and total offense yards (2989) as the Yellowjackets closed out their regular season schedule with a 50-16 win over Park Rapids Area. 

Perham scored at the 8:09 mark of the first quarter on a nine yard run by Zack Peterson, capping an 11 play, 85 yard drive. With 5:01 remaining in the second quarter Beachy connected with Josh Jeziorski on a 31 yard touchdown pass and then hit Peterson with the two point conversion pass to lift Perham to a 14-0 halftime lead. 

A thirty point third quarter broke the game open as Jeziorski hauled in a 32 yard pass from Colton Hackel at 10:10 of the quarter, making it a 20-0 Perham lead. Park Rapids Area responded with a one yard TD run by Cody Dravis and a Dravis two-point conversion run, cutting the lead to 20-8. Perham then recorded a team safety to add two points to their lead and Jeziorski caught his third scoring pass of the night, going 40 yards on a pass from Beachy with 3:08 remaining in the third. Peterson carried the ball over the goal line for the two point conversion, giving Perham a 30-8 advantage. Hackel was on the receiving end of a 69 yard touchdown pass by Beachy and then Hackel added the extra point kick to put the score at 37-8 with 2:50 left in the quarter. Just over a minute later Finn Diggins scored on a one yard run and Hackel’s PAT kick put the score at 44-8 after three quarters of play. 

The Panthers scored just over a minute into the fourth quarter on a 28 yard run by Tristin Persons and a two point run by Persons, putting the score at 44-16. Perham scored the final touchdown of the night on a 25 yard run by Hackel to make the final 50-16. 

Perham recorded 383 yards of offense, 101 rushing and 282 passing. Beachy completed 13-of-22 passes for 238 yards and 3 TDs, while leading the rushing attack with 46 yards on 13 carries. Jeziorski (4 catches, 114 yards, 3 TDs), Ty Moser (4 catches, 41 yards) and Peterson (4 catches, 34 yards) were the leading receivers in the game. 

Defensive leaders for the Yellowjackets were Hackel (10 tackles), Colton Kostynick (9 tackles, 1 interception), Peterson (8 tackles, 1 sack), Noah Rooney (1 interception), Diggins (2 sacks) and Dawson Kellogg (1 sack). 

Park Rapids ran for 215 yards and passed for 27, compiling 242 yards of total offense on the night. Tristin Peterson led the way with 107 yards rushing on 13 carries, while Dravis added 89 yards on 18 attempts.
