“It was a slow Monday start, but we really clicked at times and got the job done,” said Underwood Head Coach Diane Ross. “Morgan Evavold had a good run of serves, scoring 7 straight points in set 1, and another in set 2, she ended with 5 ace serves on the night.”
Isabel Dahl also served up 4 aces, and Abby Marfell was 5/5 with 2 aces. Brooke Hovland came up with some strong kills in set 3 when the Rockets needed them, hitting a .500 with 10 attempts and 5 kills and no errors, getting 11 kills in the match. Emma Fitzgibbons ended the night with 12 kills, 14 assists, 2 ace blocks and 8 digs. Ally Johnson added 4 kills and 2 ace blocks, and Shaynah Smithadded 4 kills and an ace block. Defensively, Kayla Rocholl had 17 digs.
Underwood is 12-8 on the season and will go back to conference action Tuesday night against Hillcrest.
