The Brandon-Evansville volleyball team placed second in the Little Eight Conference with a 6-4 record a year ago, finishing the season with a 12-16 overall mark.  The Chargers return nine letter winners from that squad, but lost Allie Satterlie (1st Team All-Conference, Team MVP), Emily Bukkila (2nd Team All-Conference), Elizabeth Schiele, Payton Schaefer and Allison Sturges to graduation.

Returning are seniors Madison Quinn (Setter), Sara Jacobson (Defensive Specialist) and Megan Lauthen (Middle Hitter), juniors Haddey Zastrow (Middle Hitter), Brittany Korkowski (Right Side Hitter) and Kailee Klimek (Outside Hitter), and sophomores Korrie Randt (Defensive Specialist/Setter), Mikenna Pattrin (Middle Hitter) and Bailey Schaefer (Outside Hitter, 2nd Team All-Conference).

Juniors Kristen Kokett (Defensive Specialist), Maddie Otto (Middle Hitter) and Doris Jacobson (Outside Hitter/Right Side Hitter) are also in the varsity mix in 2018.

"The team seems to be a cohesive group who have good attitudes and a team first focus," said Head Coach Kelly Olson, entering his seventh year with the Chargers.  "The players all seem to get along and care for each other.  This group has a never give up quality and play hard nosed defense.  We have some holes to fill with the loss of four starters, two of which were primary passers and team leaders in digs.  Over the summer the players became more comfortable on the court with each other, and worked hard in the weight room and at camps.  We are looking forward to a fun year and should field a competitive squad."

Olson will be assisted by Abecca Erickson (Associate Head Coach, JV Coach) and Kami Dingwall (C Squad).

Olson says Underwood, Wadena-Deer Creek, Henning, Barnesville and Breckenridge will all compete for the Section 6A title, while Underwood, Parkers Prairie and Battle Lake should all be in the fight to win the Little Eight Conference.
