The Fergus Falls softball team saw their season come to an end in Alexandria on Tuesday as they dropped a 14-4 decision to the lady Cardinals.  It was a back-and-forth start at the beginning of the game with Alex scoring a run in the bottom of the 2nd inning.  The bats came to life for the Otters in the top of the third.  Alex walked two batters and Karyssa Eberle reached base on an error.  On the same error, Fergus Falls scored a run to tie the game.  Rylynn Krein doubled home two more and then scored on a two-base hit by McKenzie Sjolie to take a 4-1 lead.

“We were at a standstill for inning 4,” reported Head Coach Devonie Smith of the Otters.  “In the bottom of the 5th, Alex was able to gain momentum, scoring 12 runs.  It was a tough loss as we struggled to recover after their big inning.  I am so proud of our players this season.  It is always a bummer when the season ends, but it is going to also be extra tough as we will be losing 6 awesome seniors.”

Leaders for the Otters were Krein (1-2, 2BB, BB, 2RBI) and Sjolie (1-2, 2B, HBP, RBI).  Krein struck out 5 batters on the day.
