Wales Earns All-Conference Honors in 4 Events to Lead Ashby/Brandon-Evansville at Little 8 Conference Meet

Lucea Wales earned All-Conference honors in four events to lead the Ashby/Brandon-Evansville Bolts at the Little Eight Conference Track and Field Meet on Tuesday in Wheaton.  Wales was the champion in the 100 meter dash, 100 meter hurdles, 300 meter hurdles and the long jump.  She was joined by teammate Taylor Dingwall who won the high jump to also receive All-Conference honors. 

The Bolts 4x800 boys’ relay team was All-Conference with a first place finish by the team of Darius Grussing, Cole Johnson, Cohen Reiland and Benjamin Myron.

Honorable Mention All-Conference recognition is bestowed on second place finishers.  Taylor Dingwall was runner-up in both hurdle events and the pole vault.  Other runner-up finishes on the girls’ side came from Courtney Paulson (400) and Lauren Thoennes (3200).

Earning All-Conference Honorable Mention for the boys’ were Stephen Hamilton in the 100 and the shot put; Micah Fuller in the 110 meter hurdles; August Bredberg in the 300 meter hurdles; and the 4x400 meter relay team of Micah Fuller, August Bredberg, Stephen Hamilton and Kenneth Spielman.

Other top 6 place winners include Ashley Paulson with a 3rd in the high jump and 4th place finishes in the 800 and 1600; Courtney Paulson with a 3rd in the 800; Lauren Thoennes with a 3rd in the 100; Joy Lederman with a 3rd in the triple jump and a 4th in the 300 hurdles; Courtney Brethorst with a 3rd in the long jump and a 6th in the triple jump; Rita Fossell with a 4th in the 3200; Olivia Topel with a 4th in the pole vault; Josephine Wahlberg with a 4th in the discus and a 6th in the shot put; Amelia Evjen with a 5th in the pole vault, Sadie Stepan with a 6th in the pole vault, and Holly Englund with a 6th in the long jump.

Boys placing in the top 6 in their events were Logan Haburn with a 3rd in the 100, a 4th in the 1600 and a 5th in the 200; Stephen Hamilton with a 5th in the 100;  Kenneth Spielman with a 3rd in the 800, a 3rd in the pole vault and a 4th in the 400; Benjamin Myron with a 3rd in the 1600 and 5th place finishes in the 300 hurdles and the pole vault; Kaleb Fuglseth with a 4th in the pole vault and a 5th in the 1600; Darius Grussing with a 3rd in the 1600; Dylan Gezo with a 4th in the 3200; Ben Bui with a 5th in the 3200; Cole Johnson with a 6th in the 3200; August Bredberg with a 3rd in the 110 hurdles; Micah Fuller with 3rd place finishes in the 300 hurdles and the high jump; Justin Lederman with a 6th in the 200; and Cohen Reiland with a 6th in the 800 and a tie for 6th in the high jump.
