Ottertail Central Track and Field Results from Park Region Conference Meet

The Ottertail Central Bulldogs track and field teams delivered impressive performances in the Park Region Conference meet on Tuesday.  The Bulldogs turned in 9 conference championship performances, which led to a second place finish for the boys and a first place finish for the girls.

Mens Highlights
Mid-Distance

Aidan Heggem in the 400 meter dash captured 3rd place with a PR of 56.27 seconds.  Peter Newark finished 4th in the 1600 with a school record time of 4:55.58 and 2nd in the 3200 with a time of 10:42.10.  Phoenix Allison also had a strong showing in the 3200, placing 5th with a time of 12:04.30.

Hurdles
Max Mekalson and Jonas Hagemeister excelled in the 110 meter hurdles, placing 2nd and 4th, with PRs of 18.60 and 19.06 seconds, respectively.  Hagemeister continued his success in the 300 meter hurdles, winning the event with a PR of 43.21 seconds.  He has yet to lose a race this year in that event.

Field Events
The field events saw remarkable achievements, particularly in the shot put and long jump.  Kale Rich dominated the shot put with a PR throw of 42’ 11.5”, while William Schwartz followed closely in 2nd place with a PR of 41’ 4”.  Rich also placed 4th in the discus with a throw of 106’ 5”.

In the long jump, Mason Dalluge took first place with an impressive leap of 21’ 1.75”, which is a top 10 jump in Class A this year.  He also won the triple jump with a distance of 42’ 11.75” and took second place in the high jump, clearing 5’ 10”.  The Bulldogs took three of the top four spots in the pole vault with Jonas taking the title, clearing 11’ 0”, which ties the school record.  Gabe Linstrom and Quinn Condiff took 3rd and 4th, respectively, both clearing 10’ 6”.

Women’s Highlights
Sprints and Relays
Annabelle Evavold led the team in the 100 meters, placing 3rd with a time of 13.94 seconds.  Kinley Bormann was a standout in the 200, finishing 2nd with a time of 27.96 seconds.  Bormann also took 2nd in the 400 with a PR of 1:02.89.

Middle and Long Distance
In the 800, Kallyn Grove secured 4th place with a school record of 2:38.64.  Norah Froslee was exceptional in the longer distances, finishing 2nd in both the 1600 (5:24.63) and 3200 (12:11.05).

Field Events
Myiesha Antoni excelled in the high jump, winning with a height of 5’ 2”.  Kinley Bormann triumphed in the long jump with a PR of 17’ 2.75”, which is the 7th best jump in Class A, and also captured first place in the triple jump with a PR of 35’ 8.25”, which is 8th best in Class A.  Kayetana Lopez-Moen won the pole vault, clearing 7’ 6”. 

The Bulldogs are back in action hosting a home meet for JV and Junior High athletes on Friday, May 17.
