The Fergus Falls girls’ golf team won the Pre-Section 8 Tournament at the Bemidji Town and Country Club on Wednesday.  The Otters put up a team score of 353, two strokes in front of runner-up Park Christian.  Third place went to Park Rapids Area with a 375 and Crookston was fourth with a 375.  Roseau placed fifth with a 379, followed by Barnesville and Hawley at 380, and East Grand Fork with a 383.

Ana Jyrkas and Annie Mayer led us with rounds of 75 and 82, respectively,” said Head Coach Ben Jurgens of the Otters.  “Ana got off to a slow start once again and once again she was able to stick with it and post a solid number.  Annie really played well today.  She was close to going low, which is exciting to see.  Hannah Johnson is starting to connect the dots and is learning how to score.  As a team, the win is great.  It helps us gage where everyone is in the section, however, one very good team, Detroit Lakes, was not at the meet today.”

Olivia Jurgens finished 23rd with a score of 97 and Shay Katzenmeyer was 34th with a 99.  Johnson finished with a 100 and Averie Tonneson recorded a 108.
