West Central Area's Sam Hanson and Mitch Dewey both shot 1-over 37's at Benson Golf Club to tie for first place.  The Knights had five golfers in the top ten again as Marshall Dewey took 4th with a 39 and Camden Anderson and Bryce Kjesbo both shot 41's to tie for 9th.  Ben Bye came in with a 46 and Parker Prahl a 49.

Earlier in the day, the Knights had a tough day at Minnewaska Area, but bounced back to shoot a 9-hole season low and win by 10 strokes.  Team scores were WCA 154, Minnewaska 164, Melrose 167, Sauk Centre 170, Morris 176, BOLD 176, Benson 183, Montevideo 186.

Knights Coach Kraig Hunter said, "Having 5 guys at 41 or under was a good day.  Sam and Mitch both got off to good starts.  Marshall got hot in the middle of the round taking the lead but had a tough finish.  Cam is the guy that's really been consistent for us. When other guys struggle, he is continually playing good golf and posting one of our top four scores and finishing in the top 10 in just about every meet. Cam also had an eagle on hole #10 in Benson today so that was another highlight. Bryce had his best round of the year. That is the golf we know he is capable of. "

Coming into today, the Knights had won seven tournaments and finished second once. However, the Knights had a tough day in Minnewaska and finished in 4th place.  Team scores were Melrose 171, Minnewaska 172, Morris 175, WCA 177, BOLD 181, Benson 185, Sauk Centre 187, and Montevideo 191.  Camden Anderson placed 4th with a 42 and Marshall Dewey 6th with a 44.

Hunter said, "Some days golf is really hard. Most of our strokes were struggling on Minnewaska's fast greens with several 3-putts and even a few 4-putts along with a couple of our guys getting penalty strokes going out of bounds. Our kids know golf can be that way and they did a good job of resetting and shooting a 9-hole season low at Benson."
