The Alexandria Cardinals hosted their annual Youth Night as they welcomed Willmar to town for a Central Lakes Conference contest on Tuesday night.  The Cardinals prevailed in the game, winning 6-0.  “The weather was perfect for baseball and Youth Night,” stated Alexandria Head Coach Jacob Munsch.  “The place was packed as many people participated in our Youth Night activities.  Always one of the most looked forward to days of the year for players, coaches and AYBA.  Thanks to all for coming out and supporting Alexandria baseball and especially to the community businesses for their generous donations to help make the night a success.”

Landon Gess Norling pitched a complete game shutout and was in control all evening for the Cardinals.  He scattered 7 hits, walked just 1 batter and struck out 7.  His defense supported him, not committing an error in the ball game and making big plays at key moments.

Offensively, Alexandria collected 6 hits with Carter Simonson leading the way with 2 hits and 3 runs batted in.  Jordan Kuhnau, Brody Adelman, Sam Anderson and Gavin Klimek also contributed hits in the game.

The Cardinals head to Rocori for another CLC game on Thursday.
