The Ottertail Central softball team came from behind to win game one of their Tuesday double header with Pillager, 11-10, however, the Huskies were able to gain a split on the day as they defeated the Bulldogs by the score of 14-7 in the nightcap.  “In game two, the bats were really quiet for the Bulldogs,” stated Head Coach Heather Akerman.  “We couldn't string anything together and we lost focus after the dramatic ending to game one.  We need to increase our endurance and continue pushing forward until the very end.”

Pillager led game one 10-5 in the fifth inning, however, OTC pushed across 3 runs in the fifth, 2 more in the sixth to tie the game and then got the game winner in the seventh.  “Great comeback win for the Bulldogs,” exclaimed Coach Akerman.  “Early on we made a few too many mistakes and let a couple routine plays put us behind, but we didn clean it up and ended up earning a win.”  Ezrah Baker doubled in the bottom of the 7th to give the Bulldogs a walk off victory.  Baker (2-3, 2 2B, 2RBI, 2R, 2BB, SB), Brooklyn Christianson (2-3, RBI, 2R, 2BB, 2B, SB), Liz Lukken (2-5, 2B, R), Kenady Cameron (2-3, SB, RBI, 2R, BB), Esme Larsen (1-3, 2RBI) and Lily Conner (1-2, RBI, 2R, 2BB, SB) led the offensive attack for OTC.
Sophie Akerman (7IP, 13H, 10R, 3ER, 1BB, 7K) was the winning pitcher.

Leaders at the plate for Pillager in the opener were Sophia Schrom (3-4, 2B, 2RBI, R). Lauren Anderson (3-5, 2R), Samantha Berent (1-4, 2B, 3RBI, R, BB), Hunter Woidyla (2-5, RBI, 2R), Alizza Klein (2-4, 2B, RBI, R) and Kalyn Karppinen (1-5, 2R).

Anderson, Karppinen and Berent each drove in two runs in the nightcap.  Woidyla was 3-for-5 with a run batted in and a run scored.  Anderson (2-5) also scored 3 times, while Schrom scored twice and knocked in a run for the Huskies.

The Bulldogs were led by Molly Durbin (1-2, 2RBI), Esme Larsen (1-3, RBI, 2R, SB, BB) and Ezrah Baker (1-2, 2B, R, BB).
