The Breckenridge Cowboys got back in the win column Tuesday night with a huge come from behind walk-off win against the 8-2 Staples-Motley Cardinals by a score of 4-3. Logan Church earned the win for the Cowboys throwing a fantastic complete game. Church kept the Cardinal hitters off-balance all night, giving up only 3 hits and allowing zero earned runs. "Logan couldn't have done a better job for us tonight. It was great to see him get back on track and toss a gem for us when we really needed him," said Head Coach Jack Hiedeman of the Cowboys.

The Cowboys made a lot of plays on defense as well in a tight pitchers duel ballgame. The game was tied 0-0 through 5 innings when the Cardinals plated 3 unearned runs in the top of the 6th off a couple Cowboy miscues.

The Cowboys waited until the bottom of the 7th inning to get the offense going. Logan Church continued his career day by reaching base on a hit by pitch. Gabe Armitage followed suit a batter later and Paul Armitage came on in the clutch with a 2-out RBI double to score Church and put the Armitage brothers in scoring position. Riley Kappes then worked a walk after being down in the count 0-2 to load the bases. Gabe Armitage scored on a wild pitch which moved the tying and winning runners into scoring position. Gavin Hoffert came to the plate and singled through the right side to score Paul Armitage and Kappes, the winning run in walk-off fashion.

"This was a huge win for us," noted Coach Hiedeman. "We had a great comeback win against Hawley in extra innings so I knew what we were capable of. To see the guys step up and battle back was awesome. We are learning how to win and it's fun to watch."

The Cowboys look to keep things rolling with a Conference double header on the road against the DGF Rebels.
