Ottertail Central tied the longest consecutive winning streak in OTC baseball history by defeating Pillager 4-0 on Tuesday to improve to 10-0 on the season.  Lane Dilly earned the win for the Bulldogs.  He gave up two hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking two.  “Lane was absolutely awesome tonight,” said Head Coach Ryan Hendrickson.  “He was able to keep a very good Pillager team on their heels and keep them guessing.  He has been a huge part of our success.  We are incredibly proud of this kid.”

OTC got on the board in the fifth inning.  Ayden Olson reached base on an error to get things started.  Eric Fick then reached on an error also, bringing up the top of the order.  Owen Harig loaded the bases with a bunt single and scored on a successful squeeze play executed by Kale Misegades.  “We were able to take advantage of some small ball and executed well in the fifth inning,” noted Coach Hendrickson.

Harig homered to right field, scoring three runs in the top of the sixth, scoring Olson and Fick ahead of him.  “The homer was absolutely clutch,” said Hendrickson.  “Owen isn’t really known as a power hitter, just an overall good hitter.  He barreled that ball up well and let it fly.  That was a huge spot for us.  Owen was clutch!”

Dilly and Misegades each collected two hits and Olson stole a pair of bases as the Bulldogs ran wild on the base paths, amassing a total of six steals in the game.

Next up for OttertaiL Central is a game at Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale on Thursday.

Lucas Hoglin (6IP, 4R, 3ER, 4H, 9K, 3BB) took the loss for the Huskies.  Kaden Imdieke led Pillager with two hits in two at bats.
