The Fergus Falls softball team dropped a Central Lakes Conference contest to Rocori on Tuesday, 5-0.  The Spartans scored one in the first inning and were able to find some gaps in the third inning to plate two more.  “Our girls did a great job backing up our pitchers tonight,” said Head Coach Devonie Smith of the Otters.  “Rocori was just able to find some gaps at the right time, driving in runs.”

McKenzie Sjolie went 2-for-3 at the plate and Averie Ohren walked twice.  Sjolie also caught a runner attempting to steal.  Rylynn Krein went 5 innings, striking out 6 and walking one.

“Rocori’s got a great pitcher, but the girls battled hard at the plate,” noted Coach Smith.  “We were disciplined and able to foul a lot of pitches, forcing her to throw more.  We have some things we can tweak and execute better, but overall we did a great job.”

The Otters will host Sauk Rapids-Rice at 5:00pm Thursday in another CLC contest.
