Warriors Post Pair of Shutout Wins Over Rothsay

Wheaton/Herman-Norcross won a pair of softball games against the Rothsay Tigers on Friday, allowing only 5 total hits to the Tigers in the two games.  The Warriors won the first game 11-0, pulling away with 9 runs in the fifth inning.  In the nightcap, Wheaton/Herman-Norcross took advantage of 15 walks in a 15-0 victory.

 

Hadley Berger (2-3, 3R), Madeline Corey (2-3, 2RBI, R, 2B), Sadie Vipond (1-4, HR, 2RBI, R) and Makayla Bertram (1-2, 2R, BB, SB) were the first game hitting leaders for the Warriors.  Jadyn Kellen (5IP, 2H, 0R, 1BB, 3K) was the beneficiary of the Warriors offense, going all five innings to earn the victory in the circle.  McKenzie Tillman (1-3, 2B) and Hadley Marquardt (1-2) had the lone hits for Rothsay.

Second game leaders for Wheaton/Herman-Norcross were Berger (2-3, 2B, 2RBI, 2R, BB), Jordyn Perry (2-3, 2B, SB, 3RBI, R, BB), Vipond (2-4, 2B, 2RBI), Bertram (3BB, 2R) and Addison Blume (3BB, 4R, SB).  Kellen (4IP, 3H, 0R, 1K) earned the win once again.  Tillman led Rothsay with 2 hits in 2 at bats, including a double.  Elli Meyer had the other hit for the Tigers.
