Hancock Sweeps Rothsay in Baseball Double Header

Three Hancock pitchers combined to allow no earned runs on six hits in a 9-1 victory for the Owls in game one of their baseball double header against Rothsay on Friday.In the second game, Hancock broke loose for 15 hits on the way to a 15-5 victory and a sweep of their double header with the Tigers.

 

Hudson VerSteeg (2IP, 3H, 1BB, 4K), Brady Luthi (4IP, 3H, 1R, 0ER, 3BB, 7K) and Donovan Curfman (1IP, 1BB, 2K) combined for the game one win.  Hitting leaders were Curfman (2-3, 2B, 3B, 2RBI, R), Matt Aslagson (2-3, 2B, 2RBI, R), Jordan Chunn (2-4, RBI, 2R, SB), Beau Haugen (2-3, RBI, R) and Ver Steeg (2-3, RBI, R, SB).

Rothsay was led by Conrad Stockinger (3-4, 2B), Karson Jensen (1-2, RBI) and Brennan Kort (1-2, R, 2SB).

Gunnar Curfman (2-4, 2B, 2RB I, 2R), Ambrose Rinkenberger (2-4, 2B, RBI, R), Ver Steeg (2-4, 2B, HR, SB, 2RBI, 2R), Donovan Curfman (2-3, RBI, 3R, 3SB), Aslagson (1-1, 4R, 2SB) and Luthi (4-4, 2B, 4SB, 5RBI, 2R) led the 15-hit attack for the Owls in game two.

Karson Jensen (2-3, 2B, 3B, 4RBI, R) was the hitting leader for Rothsay in the second game.Ben Metzger drove in a run with a single and Kort went 1-for-3 at the plate.
