The Alexandria baseball team dominated Sauk Rapids-Rice on Thursday, winning 21-1. The Cardinals collected 21 hits on the way to the win over the Storm. Sam Anderson led the way with 4 hits, followed by Jordan Kuhnau, Brody Adelman, and Sawyer Rumohr with 3 hits apiece. Cameron Simon, Boone Branson, and John Botzet each had 2 hits. Branson, Kuhnau, Gage Castle and Landon Raths all had doubles.
Landon Gess Norlin picked up the win going 3 innings and allowing 1 unearned run. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2 and struck out 2. Jaxon Bakeberg stepped up on the bump for his first varsity experience and did great going the final 2 frames, not allowing a hit and striking out 3 batters.
The Cardinals play again Friday, facing Detroit Lakes at 4:30pm and Fergus Falls at 6:30pm at Knute Nelson Field in Alexandria.
