The West Central Area Knights strung together two hard fought wins in gusty conditions in two WCC 9-hole meets. At Tipsinah the Knights edged Minnewaska by one stroke led by Marshall Dewey 36, Mitch Dewey 38, Sam Hanson 41 and Cam Anderson and Parker Prahl both with 42's.

In Morris the Knights edged the hometown Tigers by one stroke as both Mitch and Marshall shot 38's, tying for 2nd, Sam in 7th with a 40 and Ben Bye in 12th with a 43. "The Knights were trailing by one stroke going into the last hole as Sam Hanson birdied to gain one stroke and Ben Bye made a spectacular up and down par as the Morris player bogeyed to gain one more stroke and overtake the lead getting the win on Ben's last putt," reported Head Coach Kraig Hunter.

WCA Knights Coach Kraig Hunter said, "Great day. Now the new kids realize what we mean when we say 'every stroke counts' being able to win both by one.  Mitch and Marshall played just steady golf all day. Sam Hanson finished in 7th place out of 55 golfers in both meets. He was 5 over through 5 holes in Morris and played the last four holes in 1-under par. He's a fighter.  Cam Andersona and Parker Prahl both tied for 12th at Tipsinah to tie for our 4th used score and Ben Bye took 12th in Morris for our 4th score. That's the kind of depth we are looking for.   It's going to be a competitive year in the WCC."
