Lane Dilly (7IP, 9K, 2BB, 4H, R) was tough on the mound Monday as the Ottertail Central Bulldogs were 4-1 winners over Pelican Rapids in a high school baseball contest hosted by the Vikings.  “Lane was pretty awesome tonight,” stated Head Coach Ryan Hendrickson of the Bulldogs.  “He was able to go the complete game and pretty well dominate overall.  Having a solid defense behind him is a lot of fun to watch as a coach.  Lane and the defense got us out of a couple of tight spots.  We just know that we can count on Lane to compete every time, all the time.”

Fellow captain Owen Harig praised Dilly’s effort, “It’s fun playing behind Lane because he is always throwing tough strikes that keep us in the game.

Ayden Olson launched a two-run home run in the fourth innings for OTC.  Noah Link, Eric Fick and Soren Floden also collected hits for Ottertail Central.  The Bulldogs were flawless in the field.  Olson said, “As a catcher I get to see a lot of pitches.  With the home run I saw it well and just put a good swing on it. Our defense was a lot of fun to watch today and Lane was really hitting his spots with his mix of pitches.”

Maclain Hovland (5IP, 4H, 4R, 3K, 0BB) was the losing pitcher for Pelican Rapids.  Hovland had two hits for Pelican Rapids and drove in their only run.  Jack Paulson also had a pair of hits.

OTC will travel to Menahga to take on the Braves on Tuesday at 4:30pm.
