Wheaton/Herman-Norcross played 3 varsity softball games over the weekend in Morris, recording a 13-9 win over Paynesville Area, while losing a 9-2 decision to the Sacred Heart Eagles and falling to the Minneota Vikings, 8-2.  The two losses were the first two defeats of the season for the Warriors, who now sit at 5-2.

Minneota jumped out to a 5-0 lead with a run in the first and four more in the second in the first game of the weekend.  Four errors by the Warriors led to 5 unearned runs in the game.  Wheaton/Herman-Norcross was led at the plate by Jordyn Perry (2-4, 3B, RBI, R) and Addison Blume (1-4, RBI, SB).  Jadyn Kellen struck out 9, but took the loss.

The Warriors bounced back with a 13-9 win over Paynesville Area as they collected 17 hits in the game.  The offensive onslaught was led by Blume (3-5, 2R, SB), Sadie Vipond (3-4, RBI, 3R, BB, SB), Madeline Corey (2-4, 2RBI), Emily Drewicke (1-5, 3B, 2RBI, 2R), Kellen (1-4, 2B, 2RBI, R, BB, SB), Perry (2-5, R) Makayla Bertram (2-3, 2B, 2R, RBI) and Hadley Berger (2-5, 2B, RBI, R).  Kellen (4IP, 4H, 8R, 3ER, 8BB, 6K) was the winning pitcher and Bertram (3IP, 1H, 1R, 0ER, 3K) closed things out in the circle for the save.

The final game of the weekend was a 9-2 loss to Sacred Heart.  Blume (2-3, 2B, R) had half of the Warriors hits and Drewicke tripled in 3 at bats as Sacred Heart pitching recorded 9 strikeouts and issued only one walk in the game.
