The Alexandria baseball team traveled to Willmar Thursday evening for a Central Lakes Conference and Section match-up against Willmar and came away with a 7 to 4 victory.  Carter Simonson started on the mound and itched 5 innings, allowing 1 earned run on just 3 hits.  Brady Swendsrud relieved Simonson going 1 inning and allowing 1 earned run on 1 hits.  Parker Converse finished the night on the mound as the Cardinal pitching staff struck out 11 Willmar batters, while walking only two.

Offensively, Alexandria collected 11 hits with Jordan Kuhnay, Landon Gess Norling, Boone Branson and Brady Adelman each recording 2 hits.  Other hitters for the evening included Gavin Klimek, Sam Anderson and Kasen Muscha.  Klimek and Kuhnau each contributed a double.

Alexandria has a busy week next week as they travel to Brainerd for a double header on Tuesday, are at Sartell on Thursday, and wrap things up at home against Detroit Lakes on Friday.
