The Fergus Falls softball team split their home double header with Alexandria on Thursday at DeLagoon Park, winning game one, 7-5, but falling 11-4 in the nightcap.  The Otters jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the second game, but stranded 8 base runners.  Alexandria made adjustments at the plate, started connecting with the ball, and pulled out the win.

In game one the Otters started out strong, taking a 2-0 lead in the first inning.  Karyssa Eberle went 3-for-3 at the plate with a double, two singles and 3 runs batted in.  Madi Budke, Bella Abrahams and Rylynn Krein each had a RBI.  McKenzie Sjolie caught two runners attempting steals at critical times in the game.  Rylynn Krein was the winning pitcher, recording 15 strikeouts.  “Our girls did a great job taking advantage of opportunities to advance to the next base,” noted Head Coach Devonie Smith.  Overall, the girls had a great first game.”

Game two saw Karlie Petersen, Eberle and Krein each collect two hits, while Petersen and Krein delivered 2 RBI apiece.  Eberle started in the circle and was relieved by Sophie Lee who made her first varsity pitching appearance, recording her first strikeout.
