The Brandon-Evansville softball team took a pair of games from Ashby on Monday, winning 18-6 and 14-4.  “We started out slow in the first game but finally found our groove in the 4th inning and built our lead from there,” said B-E Head Coach Kasi Sieling. “Kylee Dingwall (7IP, 5H, 10BB, 4K, 1ER) was able to work out of a number of situations and the defense made key plays when they needed to in order to prevent Ashby from going on a run. In game 2, Claire Boesl (5IP, 2H, 4ER, 4BB, 3K) struggled to find the zone early, but once she did, the defense was able to make the plays behind her and keep Ashby runners from scoring. We hit the ball hard from the start of this game and it was good to see girls make adjustments and move runners around.”

The Chargers had 12 hits and drew 13 walks in the first game victory over the Arrows.  Dingwall (4-5, SB, RBI, 2R), Mia Elmer (2-2, 2RBI, 4R, 3BB), Drea Fernholz (2-4, 4RBI, 2R, BB, SB), Hallie Richter (2-4, 2RBI, R, 2BB), Ava Santjer (0-3, 2RBI, 2R, 2BB) and Madeline Stich (1-6, 2RBI, R, SB).

Chloe Finkelson (1-3, 3R, 2B, SB), Laila Schroeder (2RBI, 2BB) and Ayden Behrens (RBI, 2BB, SB) led the Arrows in game one.

Dingwall (4-4, 3B, SB, 4RBI, 3R), Boesl (3-4, 2 2B, 2RBI, 2R), Tahira Schaffran (3-4, 2B, 2RBI, R), Fernholz (2-3, RBI, 2R, SB) and Stich (2-4, 2B, R) were the top hitters for the Chargers in game two.

Quynn Behrens drove in two runs, Ella Mikkelson had 2 steals and on RBI, and BrookeLinn FInkelson also knocked in a run with a sacrifice fly.

“These were two good conference wins and now we have to prepare for a tough doubleheader against CGB,” said Coach Sieling.
