Fergus Falls traveled to Hutchinson on Friday where they lost an 8-0 contest to the Tigers.  “A tough night at the plate for the Otters,” said Head Coach Shane Thielke.  “We faced a really solid pitcher who was consistently in the 80’s and he proved to be too much for our guys early in the season.  Isaac Ellison gave us a strong start but ran into trouble with control in the third inning.”

Hunter Powers came on in relief of Ellison but had a tough luck fourth inning that included a bunt base hit, a bloop single and a pair of Otter errors that led to 4 runs.  “That proved to be more than enough behind the strong pitching and solid defense of the Tigers,” noted Coach Thielke.  “The lone bright spot at the plate was Powers, who had three great at bats, collecting his first two varsity hits.”

Carston Fronning finished the game on the mound.

Fergus Falls will travel to Alexandria on Monday to face the Cardinals at Knute Nelson field.  The game was moved up from Tuesday due to the weather forecast.
