Fergus Falls hosted the St. Cloud Crush in their softball home opener on Thursday at DeLagoon Park and the Otters fell 12-9.  “The girls fought hard and had a great night at the plate with 11 hits,” said Head Coach Devonie Smith.  “Karlie Petersen and McKenzie Sjolie led us with two hits each, but we had contributions up and down the line up.”

The Otters struggled defensively, however, and St. Cloud came through with several scoring opportunities as they consistently put the ball in play and forced the Otters to make the plays.

Rylynn Krein pitched 6 innings, striking out 4 batters, and Karyssa Eberle closed out the game with one inning in the circle.

“The girls know the adjustments we have to make and we are ready to take on Little Falls and Detroit Lakes at home on Friday,” added Coach Smith.

The game with Little Falls begins at noon and the Lakers will face the Otters at 4:00pm with both games at DeLagoon Park.
