The Fergus Falls baseball team held their season and home opener on Thursday at American Legion Field at DeLagoon Park.  The Otters welcomed Central Lakes Conference opponent, Willmar, to town and things got off to a fast start at the plate for both teams as the Cardinals took a 7-0 lead in the top of the first and the Otters answered back with five in the bottom of the inning.  Willmar went on to post a 13-6 victory.  “We battled back, the kids played hard and I’m excited about the way they fought back from an early deficit,” said Head Coach Shane Thielke of Fergus Falls.

Logan Larson (2-3, BB, R), Brock Scheuerman (2-4, 2B), Levi King (1-3, RBI, R, BB), Kellen Stenstrom (1-3, BB, 2R), Henry Bethel (1-2, 2BB, R) and Carston Fronning (1-3, R, BB) led the Otters at the plate.

Levi King struck out 9 batters in 4 innings of relief, but Fergus Falls pitching issued 7 walks on the day and 3 fielding errors led to 6 unearned runs.
