Perham Takes 2 from Frazee

The Perham baseball season got the 2024 season off to a great start on Thursday as the Yellowjackets swept the Frazee Hornets in a Heart O’ Lakes Conference double header, winning 9-0 and 14-3.

 

Ashton Detloff (6IP, 1H, 1BB, 9K) and Joey Ecker (1IP, 2K) combined to one-hit the Hornets as they recorded a shutout in the opening game.  Detloff also went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double, one RBI and a run scored.  Alex Blume (2-3, BB, 3R, 2-2B), Gage Aanenson (1-4, 4RBI, R), Gavin Griffin (1-4, 2R) and Brayden Anderson (2-2, 2B) were the top hitters in the game for the Yellowjackets.

Cael Pausch had the only Frazee hit in the game. Asher Blaine drew a walk and stole a base.

Perham collected 10 hits in the second game and allowed only two hits to Frazee as Pausch (1-3, R) and Karson Krause (1-2, 2RBI, BB) both singled.  Leaders at the plate for Perham were Blaiz Schmidt (3-4, 3B, 2RBI, 2R), Detloff (2-4, 2RBI, R), Griffin (2-3, 2RBI, 2R, BB, 2-2B) and Alex Blume (1-2, 3R, RBI, BB).

Drew Ellingson (2IP, 1H, 3R, 0ER, 0BB, 7K) picked up the win on the mound.  Aanenson (1IP, 1H, 2BB, 1K), Ecker (1IP, 2BB, 1K) and Anderson (1IP, 3K) shared the relief duties.
