Parkers Prairie came from behind once again to beat another top-10 ranked team on Thursday, recording a 7-6 victory over Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa.  Seth Sansness got the start and pitched well before being relieved by Shane HansonJoe Johnson led the offense with a pair of singles.

“Down 6-0 going into the bottom of the 7th, we didn’t have much going for us on the night,” stated Head Coach Derek Denny.  “Shane Hanson started the inning drawing a lead-off walk, and he also had the final at bat of the inning as bases were loaded with one out and Shane hit a ground ball to shortstop.  BBE tried to go for a 6-4-3 double play, but with Shane’s speed and a ball in the dirt to the first baseman, BBE couldn’t make the out at first.  Zach Mrnak scored to tie the game and Mason Boesl had the heads-up read when the ball caromed away from the first baseman to scamper home with the winning run.”

The Panthers won the JV game 6-1 with AJ Woodworth going all 3 innings and striking out two batters.  The Jaguars took advantage of a hit batter to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the first.  Parkers Prairie came out hot with their bats and answered with 5 runs of their own.  It was smooth sailing the next two innings behind a good defensive effort.  The JV team will be in Verndale on Friday.
