The Ottertail Central baseball team scored 21 runs on 18 hits Thursday as they improved their record to 2-0 on the young season with a 21-8 win over the Eagles in New York Mills.  Soren Floden collected 4 hits, including a 2-run triple, in five at bats to lead OTC.  Owen Harig also had 4 hits for the Bulldogs, including a triple, and also successfully stole home in the third inning.

OTC scored 8 runs on 7 hits in the top of the fifth inning.  Noah Link and Gavin Pausch each delivered run scoring singles and Ryan Despard hit a sacrifice fly in the inning.

The Bulldogs scored five runs on three hits in the top of the seventh inning.  Harig contributed a RBI double in the inning.

Ayden Olson of the Bulldogs was quoted as saying, “we started off a little slow, but then we got the bats going.  It was really fun playing with the boys tonight and got the win in the end.  I thought we played really well together against a tough conference foe.  It was a really fun game to be a part of!”

Dilly earned the wins for the Bulldogs, allowing 7 hits and 6 runs, only one of which was earned, over four-and-two-thirds innings, striking three and walking two.  Teagan Lausten took the loss for the Eagles.  The starting pitcher went three innings, allowing four runs on five hits, striking out three and walking two.

Ottertail Central assistant coach Dakota Aeling said, “It was really fun to see the boys’ bats come alive tonight.  The way we ran the bases tonight is what OTC baseball is all about!”

Next up for OTC is a game at Sebeka on Friday.
