Fergus Falls needed extra innings to pull out a 9-5 Central Lakes Conference road win over Sauk Rapids-Rice on Tuesday as the Otters opened the 2024 high school softball season.  “The girls started slow with the bats, but were able to make great adjustments at the plate,” stated second-year head coach Devonie Smith.

Bella Abrahams (RBI), Rylynn Krein (3 RBI) and Carlana Zetah (2 RBI) each had doubles in the game.

“We had some great discipline at the plate, tallying six walks for the game,” noted Coach Smith.  “We, unfortunately, haven’t had many opportunities to get true fielding practice in while waiting for fields to dry up, but we were able to overcome that and made some great defensive stops tonight.  I thought we did a great job of backing up our pitcher, Rylynn Krein, who had 9 strikeouts and just two walks.”
