The Ottertail Central softball team returns eight letter winners from last season, which gives second year head coach Abby Nygaard reason for optimism heading into 2024. “We are excited to have a solid core of athletes coming back from last year,” acknowledged Coach Nygaard. “Their experience and leadership will be important as we start the season and as we move toward the post season.”
Seniors Liz Lukken (LF), Brooklyn Christianson (C), Ezrah Baker (OF), Dealia Grabe (OF) and Kaylee Trosdahl, junior Esme Larsen (IF), and sophomores Sophie Akerman (P, IF) and Kenady Cameron (P, IF) are all returning for the Bulldogs.
Senior Lily Conner (IF) and sophomore Brianna Bunkowski (P, IF) are also in the varsity mix.
Melissa Olson (JV), Steve Ness (Junior High) and Caleb Hom (Junior High) will assist Coach Nygaard.
Menahga and New York Mills appear to be the favorites in the Park Region Conference, with Breckenridge and Thief River Falls the teams to beat in Section 8AA.
