The Fergus Falls softball team returns some varsity experience and solid senior leadership as they begin the 2024 season. “We made many improvements throughout the season and really started to see success as we continued to make our way through the season,” said Head Coach Devonie Smith, now in her second season at the helm. “We gave a very passionate group of girls that are eager to take Otter softball to the next level. I am very excited to see what this season brings!”
Smith will be assisted by Kari Krein and Sabrina Noon, with Sheri Smith serving as JV coach.
Seniors Karyssa Eberle (SS, P), Rylynn Krein (P, SS), Bella Abrahams (2B), McKenzie Sjolie (C) and Madi Budke (CF) will captain the Otters in 2024. Juniors Karlie Petersen (3B) and Carlana Zetah (1B) are also returning letter winners.
Smith sees Rocori, St. Cloud and Sartell as the top teams in the Central Lakes Conference and tabs Rocori as the favorite in Section 8AAA.
