The Rothsay track and field teams had good representation in the Section 6A meet last spring and return a solid group of varsity athletes for the 2024 season.  Head Coach Trevor Hone is in his 13th year leading the Tigers.  He will be assisted by Jennie Miller.  “We are a small team, but the athletes we have are strong and have real potential to do well this year,” said Coach Hone.  “We have gotten better each of the past several seasons and we are hoping to continue that pattern.”

Returning letter winners include section qualifiers Matt Danielson (110 hurdles, 300 hurdles, triple jump) and Mark Carillo (shot put), and sophomore Karson Jensen (100, 200, long jump).  Other letter winners back from 2023 are senior Zach Christ (discus), juniors Josh Honer (shot put) and Brooklyn Weiers (shot put, 1600), and freshman Emma Klossner (discus, shot put).

Coach Hone is also counting on varsity contributions from sophomore Dawson Leabo (100, 200, long jump), freshman Savannah Leabo (100, 200, long jump) and Khloe Wilkinson (100, 200, long jump).

Matt Danielson and Brooklyn Weiers will serve as team captains.
