The Hancock baseball team doubled their win total from 2022 with 6 wins during the 2023 campaign and look to improve on that number in 2024.  They will have a couple of spots to fill on the mound after losing Davin Rose and Dain Schroeder (playing at M State-Fergus Falls) to graduation. Head Coach Cory Bedel will be assisted by Taylor Holleman.

“We are excited for the season,” said Coach Bedel. “We will be looking for a couple of guys to step into the pitching role after losing two to graduation.  We feel we have a good part of our offense coming back, solid fielding and we have a very fast team which will help on defense and running the bases.”

Returning starters include seniors Hudson Ver Steeg, Donovan Curfman and Matt Aslakson, juniors Chase Evink, Sebastian Salas and Brady Luthi, and sophomore Ambrose Rinkenberger.  Ver Steeg and Evink will serve as team captains for the Owls.

Bedel will also be looking for varsity contributions from senior Bradley Klucas, junior Jordan Chunn, sophomore Owen Kieffer and freshman Gunnar Curfman.

Coach Bedel sees Border West and Brandon-Evansville as the teams to beat in the Little Eight Conference.
