The M State baseball team split a Saturday double header with Central Lakes College, falling 12-2 in 6 innings in the first game and them recording an 8-6 victory in game two.  The win snapped a 12 game Spartan losing streak.

In game one, Bryce Krueger tripled to drive in a run and Logan Pulju delivered a RBI double to stake the Spartans to an early 2-0 lead. Central Lakes took the lead with a 6-run fourth inning, added four more in the fifth and closed out the game by the mercy rule with 2 more in the sixth.  Beau Lepel (2-3, 2RBI, 2R, Devin Waldorf (2-3, 3B, 2RBI, 2R) and Justin Walters (2-4, RBI, 2R) all had multiple hits for the Raiders.

In the second game, M State led 2-1 after two innings, however, Central Lakes put a 4-spot on the board in the fifth to take a 5-2 advantage.  The Spartans answered with five in the bottom of the fifth and added an insurance run in the sixth for an 8-5 lead.  The Raiders scored once in the top of the seventh, but Eli Stevens (2IP, 3H, 1ER, 3K, 0BB) closed them out for his first save of the season.  Isaac Hamann (5IP, 4H, 5R, 3ER, 2BB, 8K) picked up the win on the mound.  Offensive leaders were Kruger (2-3, 2RBI, Pulju (2-3, BB, 2R) and Connor Davis (2-3, RBI, R).  Dalton Heater and Eoghan Fisher each drove in a run and Hamann scored twice, while also stealing a base.

M State will travel to Brainerd for another double header with Central Lakes on Wednesday.
