Pelican Rapids competed at the Thundering Herd Indoor Track and Field Classic, hosted by NDSU on Monday at the Bison Sports Arena in Fargo. Megan Guler led the lady Vikings, finishing third in the 400 meter dash (1:03.98), fifth in the 200 meter dash (28.24) and was also on the fourth place 4x400 meter relay team (4:36.77) along with Arianna Hovland, Grace Backstrom and Aftyn Hahn. Backstrom ended up with a fifth place finish in the high jump (4’10”).
Carrington, ND won the event with 72 points. Fergus Falls was runner-up with 67.2, Oak Grove Lutheran was third with 58.2, followed by Shanley 55, Valley City 50.2, Perham 49, Central Cass 46, Park Rapids Area 39.2, International Falls 36, Staples-Motley 30, Pelican Rapids 19, Northern Cass 9, Richland 8.5, and Edgeley/Kulm 4.
