The 2023 boys’ track and field season saw to state placers from Bertha-Hewitt-Verndale, including the 4x800 relay team taking 5th place and Brady Rach finishing fourth in the 3200 meter run. The Raiders won the Park Region Conference meet and Head Coach Jeff Moore, now in his 24th season at the helm, says, “We’re still celebrating the conference track championship of 2023 and are working toward attaining that goal again.”
The Raiders are adding pole vault as an event for the team, which they haven’t had for about 20 years.
“We are off to a promising start with a good number of boys out and a talented group of senior boys who have been in track a majority of their high school careers,” noted Coach Moore. “Last season we set several school records and are looking forward to more of the same in 2024.”
