The Fergus Falls Boys’ Track and Field team opened the season indoors at the Moorhead Athletic Association Meet on Friday at Concordia College.  The Otter boys took 3rd place with 108.5 points.  Moorhead won the meet with 155 points and Alexandria was the runner-up with 129 points.

“This was a great start to the season for our team,” stated Head Coach Derek Meyer of Fergus Falls. “We got to see where we stand against other competition and I got to see what some of our new faces on the team were about. I am pleased with how things went at Concordia. Our Distance squad led the charge with a 1st place finish in the 4x800m relay. That group included Tommy Erickson, Matthew Tuel, Logan Bredenberg, and Jaden Miller. These guys look fit and sharp early on. Shane Zierden started where he left off last year with a 1st place finish in the long jump and with a monster jump to also crown him in the triple jump. He also added a strong performance in the high jump with a personal best of 5'8. Jaden Miller took the top spot in the 1600m. Matthew Tuel had a solid effort in the grueling indoor 3200m placing 2nd.  We are set to compete again April 1st indoors at NDSU.”
