Vikings Season Ends in Class AA Consolation Semifinals

The season ended on Thursday night for the Pelican Rapids Vikings as they fell to Jackson County Central in a Class AA consolation semifinal contest at Gangelhoff Center at Concordia University in St. Paul. 

The Wildcats built a 40-25 halftime lead, but the Vikings cut the lead to 7 with a strong start to the second half.  JCC regained the momentum and finished with a 74-65 win.

Jackson County won the battle of the boards, 39-26, utilizing their superior height. Pelican Rapids took excellent care of the basketball with only 6 turnovers.

Roman Voss led the Wildcats with a game high 22 points. Weston Rau added 20 points and 9 rebounds, and Grant Frecking finished with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists.  Benjamin Gallagher dished out 5 assists.

The Vikings were led by Timmy Guler (18 points, 3 rebounds), Charlie Larson (13 points), Jack Welch (9 points, 3 rebounds), Miguel Torres (8 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds) and Grady Larson (4 rebounds).

Pelican Rapids ends their season with a 24-7 record.
