M State lost the first game of a Sunday double header with NDSCS, 17-6, and the Wildcats posted a 3-1 win in the second game as the two teams played in Orlando, Florida. NDSCS took control of game one with a 14-run third inning and NDSCS pitching only allowed 3 hits in the second game victory.
The Wildcats had 14 hits in the opener, led by Ben Clouse (2-4, 2B, R, 4RBI), Braden Herr (2-3, 3R, 2BB, 2B), Connor Davis (2-4, R, 4RBI, 2B), Tori Uhlich (2-5, 2R, 2RBI, HR, SB), Masen Allmaras (2-4, 3R, RBI) and Ryan Loewe (2-3, 3R, BB).
Isaac Hamann led the Spartans with 3 hits in 4 at bats, including a double. He also drove in a run and scored a run. Eoghan Fisher (3-4, RBI, R) and Ben Monson (2-2, 2B, RBI, R).
In the nightcap, Hamann (5IP, 7H, 3R, 2ER, 9K) pitched well, but took the loss. He also had 2 hits in 3 at bats, scoring the lone Fergus Falls run. Davis drove in the run. Leadoff hitter Tori Uhlich led NDSCS with two hits in two at bats. The Wildcats did not commit a single error in the field.
M State has a single game with Prairie State College on Monday night, will take Tuesday off, and will play a pair of games on Wednesday.
