The Rothsay Tigers scored the first 13 points of the second half to overcome a 26-20 halftime deficit on the way to a 46-45 win over sixth-seeded Underwood in a Section 6A pigtail playoff game Monday night on the Rockets home floor.  Underwood had led by as many as 12 points in the first quarter.

Preston Curtis and Landon Messerschmidt led the Tigers with 14 points each, while Matthew Danielson added 9 points and 8 rebounds.  Messerschmidt completed a double-double by snaring 13 rebounds in the game.

The Rockets were led by 18 points and 9 rebounds from Hudson Risbrudt and 11 points and 10 rebounds from Gavin PauschDrew Evavold added 8 points and 8 boards.  Underwood shot just 29% from the field and 20% from 3-point range. They had 7 assists compared to 17 turnovers.

"This was a disappointing end to a good season," stated Underwood Head Coach Kellen Shebeck. "We battled a lot of close games this year and came out on top in some, and on the other end of some.  These 3 seniors, Gavin Pausch, Noah Link and Kyle Savage were so instrumental in starting to turn this program around, and our coaching staff couldn't be prouder of how they responded to our challenges these last 2 to 3 years.  They have left a mark on this program that will carry into the future!  Noah Link was injured in our game against Henning last weekend, and was unable to finish out this season, but was a positive leader to this team to the end.  I'm very proud of them all."

Eleventh seeded Rothsay (6-21) will now face third seeded Hillcrest (22-4) on Thursday night at 7:00pm in Fergus Falls.

Underwood ends their season with a record of 14-13.
