Fergus Falls won the battle of the boards, 41-27, led by Bella Anderson with 14 rebounds. She also had 3 blocked shots. Scoring leaders for the Otters were Brynn Sternberg with 16, Ruby Ellison with 14 and Carlee Hirst with 11. Hattie Fullhart finished with 9 points. Ellison completed a double-double by securing 10 rebounds on the night.
Neither team shot the ball well as the Otters hit 34% of their field goal attempts and only 19% from beyond the arc, and Willmar made 29% of their attempts and 29% of their 3's. The Otters did make 13-of-16 from the free throw line.
"The Roosevelt gym provided a great environment for a playoff game and this was a fun win for our girls," stated Fergus Falls Head Coach Josh Steer. "This was about as tough and physical as we have played and I am really pleased with how we battled on both ends of the floor."
Fergus Falls takes a record of 19-9 into their matchup with the Cardinals, who are 24-3.
