Fifth-seeded Wheaton/Herman-Norcross traveled to Evansville on Thursday night to face fourth-seeded Brandon-Evansville in a South Sub-Section 6A contest.  The Warriors jumped out to a 17-3 advantage, but B-E battled back to pull even at halftime, 28-28.  The Chargers made a good push to start the second half, taking a 50-43 lead, however, four consecutive steals gave Wheaton/Herman-Norcross a one point lead and the Chargers never recovered, losing 66-64.

“I just want to say how proud I am of this group and the work they put in the last 11 months to make the improvements they did,” said B-E Head Coach Stephen Schreiber.  “I believe we played even better than expected this year and the leadership Skylar Bitzan, Maddy Anderson and Kylee Dingwall gave to this team will continue on even in their absence next year.”

Julia Schmidt had a solid night for the Warriors, making 9-of-14 field goal attempts and 10-of-13 free throws for a game high 29 points.  She also had 4 steals, 3 rebounds and 2 assists.  Braylen Schmidt finished with 12 points and 5 rebounds, while Jordyn Perry scored 9 points, secured 8 rebounds, dished out 3 assists and came up with 4 stelas.

The Warriors will face Hancock, the number one seed in the South, at 1:00pm Saturday at Minnewaska Area High School in Glenwood.
